Meet Our Team

Kūlia College Pathways is staffed by student volunteers who attend or graduated from colleges across the nation. Meet board members who make this program possible.

Kaeo Yuen

A sophomore at Harvard College studying Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience. He (Kamehameha Schools Kapālama ’24) was born and raised on the North Shore of Oʻahu in Haleʻiwa. You will always find him with his friends hanging out at the beach and on hikes.

Olivia Stoetzer

A 2023 Swarthmore College graduate with degrees in Political Science and Environmental Studies. Following graduation, she pursued a Thomas J. Watson Fellowship to study urban climate resilience initiatives in 10 countries. Born and raised in Honolulu, Olivia loves a good beach read, swimming in various bodies of water, and sharing meals with friends. 

Michael Yoro

A junior at Harvard College studying Government and a graduate of Leilehua High School in Wahiawa, Hawaiʻi. He has interned for various elected officials where he gained hands-on experience in public service and constituent work. Michael is passionate about expanding educational and civic opportunities for students from Hawaiʻi.

Hiʻilani Thain

A graduate of Stanford spring ‘25 with a bachelor’s in psychology. While in college, she also spent time in research, creative writing, and indigenous studies. She’s a first-generation student from the south side of Kauaʻi, and went to high school at Island School. Hiʻilani is pursuing a career in social work and community health. In her free time she likes to read, rock climb, and spend time outside.

Abigail Macaraeg

A junior at the University of Pennsylvania studying Biology on a pre-med track. She (Damien Memorial School ‘23) was born and raised in Kāne’ohe, Hawai’i. She enjoys going to the beach, hiking with friends, and baking.

Anela Ramos

A 2024 graduate of Georgetown University and majored in Human Science. She believes her education has been the most valuable gift she has received and is committed to paying it forward. Currently residing in Washington, D.C., she loves visiting the Smithsonians and getting KBBQ/hot pot with friends.

Kaleo Yuen

A freshman at Harvard College dual concentrating in Government and Medical Anthropology and plans to secondary in Global Health & Health Policy. Graduated from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama in 2025. He loves to hike, go beach, and holoholo.

Skyler Recel-Chang

A junior at Brown University studying Neuroscience and Indigenous Studies on the Pre-Med track. She was born and raised in Maunalua, O’ahu and graduated from Punahou ’23. In her free time, you’ll find her jamming a guitar, reading a good book, or surfing her longboard!

Jade Ishimine

A recent graduate of the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Business Administration. Born and raised in Hilo, she is a proud graduate of Waiākea High School. In her free time, she enjoys playing tennis and reading.

Marissa Bascon

A second year at Harvard College studying Molecular & Cellular Biology and Psychology on the pre-med track. She was raised in the northern village of Dededo, Guam and graduated from Waialua High School on the North Shore of Oahu. You can find her reading on the beach at home or on adventures in Boston during the school year!

Ye Won Ham

A senior at Harvard College studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and she graduated from Punahou School in 2022. When she needs a break from the chaos of school, she enjoys playing golf, taking pottery workshops, and watching K-dramas.

Amira Fisher

A recent graduate of Georgetown University, studying Government and Sociology. She is now working full-time as a consultant in Washington DC. A proud alumna of Aiea High School, she graduated in 2020 and was born and raised in Aiea, Hawaii. You’ll often find Amira traveling and enjoying ono food!

Leesa Takara

A freshman at Purdue University studying First-Year Engineering (transitioning into mechanical engineering) and Applied Statistics. Born and raised on Oahu, she graduated from Mililani High School. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with friends, puzzles, reading books, and attempting to crochet.

Shwe Win

A recent graduate of Harvard College, studying Neuroscience and a proud Hilo High alum. Although originally from Myanmar, she considers the Big Island as her home. In her free time, she loves cafe-hopping around Cambridge, running along the Charles River, and traveling with friends on Harvard’s dime!

Damien Chang

A senior at Harvard College studying Government and Chemistry. From Honolulu, HI, he is a proud graduate of McKinley High. He would love to learn other languages, but isn’t very good at any, currently struggling with French and Japanese.
